As part of a multi‐disciplinary team, Vantage Point is currently working with the Maryland Transit Authority’s Baltimore Red Line project with a focus on Transit‐Oriented Development. We are currently serving as senior advisor on land use, economic development, value capture and public‐private partnerships on this 19 station, $2.5 billion light rail project that is designed to address regional economic development, land use and residential/job connection.
Vantage Point is working on the New Starts Application and coordinating with Station Area Advisory Committees and major institutional and private sector developers. This transit line serves: suburban Baltimore County and the Social Security headquarters, an economically disadvantaged inner‐city corridor, the University of Maryland at Baltimore and its BioTech Park and medical facilities, the Central Business District and Inner Harbor areas, the emerging Inner Harbor East, Fells Point, and Canton (areas home to significant redevelopment and the creative class), the traditional inner‐city neighborhoods of Highland Town and Greektown, and the Bayview Medical Center and research campus of Johns Hopkins University. The line offers interconnections to the North Central light rail line, the Baltimore Metro system, three Marc commuter rail stations, and MTA’s extensive bus network. The project is being fast tracked by the FTA and has just submitted its FEIS for review.
